One Night in his Custody
Struggling to deal with getting over her ex, Olivia Fitzgerald is just looking for some fun. However, when things get out of control at the hen’s night she’s attending, she never thought she’d find herself about to get arrested. However, it just so happens that luck is on her side when her ex comes to her rescue.
Stepping in to rescue his ex from being arrested, policeman Michael Williams soon finds himself escorting her home. Surprised when Olivia asks him an innocent question of why they never had sex, he doesn’t know how to answer until she convinces him she can handle any answer he offers.
The plot of this book delves into the relationship of a hero that thinks the woman he loves can’t handle anything he can dish out when it comes to sex. The way this book started was a great laugh with Olivia almost getting arrested and then asking her ex such an innocent question that had the potential to blow up in her face because of the truth behind the hero’s reasons. The dialogue was good and flowed well, inevitability showcasing Olivia’s vulnerability of not feeling worthy of Michael’s love because of his initial rejection when he broke up with her. The sex scenes were candid and gave Olivia the answer to the all important question she’d wanted answered. Since Michael was worried she wouldn’t be able to handle the animalistic side of him that loved bondage and dominance. What I liked so much about the heroine was how she proved him wrong. That she could handle anything they did together as long as it meant they could get back together since neither of them stopped loving the other. While with Michael, I enjoyed that he finally opened up to Olivia about why he felt the need to end their relationship. He was trying to protect her.
Overall, this was a good story of two characters that still love each other and that they were willing to do anything to find their way back to each other, even if it meant compromising.
