On the run from her ex-husband, Caprice O’Brien is in a bind when her car breaks down. When she discovers the door to a motor-home open, she slips inside and hides with her young son until she can get the proof that her ex-husband killed someone to the FBI.
All Holt LeBerger wants is to get to his father and rescue him from a hurricane that has hit his old man’s hometown. Instead, he finds that trouble has somehow managed to find its way into the back of his motor-home. Realising the scared woman and her young son have nowhere to go, he offers to help her as long as she’s willing to listen to him if he has any chance of protecting them.
From the beginning, this book captivated me and held my interest until the very end with its plot. It started off well with Caprice finding herself in a bind with her car breaking down and then having no other option but to slip into the back of Holt’s motor-home. The dialogue was well-written and showed how vulnerable both Caprice and Holt were since both of them had suffered through divorces that had left them weary of finding happiness again. The sex scenes were perfect where they were and illustrated how both these two main characters deserves a second chance at love, no matter how badly they’d been burned in the past. What I liked so much about the hero and heroine was that they were willing to give the other a chance once they realized they didn’t have any other choice but to trust each other.
Overall, Ms. Newberg has done a wonderful job penning this tale mixing both elements of romance and suspense just right and I can’t wait to read more of this author’s work in the future.
