Ever since her mother died when she was five, Laynee Conners has been in a school for the blind, first as a student and currently as a teacher until her father brings her back home. Laynee’s dad doesn’t want her to come home really. He wants her dead and he has the perfect idea to kill her and make it look like wild animals were the culprit.
Brothers, David and Eric Wind River, have been called back to the Wind River Pack by their alpha. While camping overnight on their way home, the men stumble upon a drugged Laynee who was left to die. David and Eric realize that Laynee is their mate and the brothers are going to do everything within their power to keep her safe.
Author Missy Martine’s distinctive voice shines, giving readers exactly what they want — an exciting tale filled with plenty of action, thrilling passion, poignant emotion and lots of danger to create a special story that touch the heart with Blind Acceptance. Once the reader starts reading, they will be hard pressed to put the book down and walk away.
Well-developed, endearing and incredibly alive characters, Laynee, David and Eric are people that readers will feel and believe their sensual and passionate connection. I especially enjoyed the fact that while Laynee might have a handicap with her blindness, she really didn’t let the handicap overshadow her life. Her strength and determination of character evenly match her with shifter brothers David and Eric. Both men want to give their mate the world and make her happy and at no point do they ever question fate with Laynee’s lack of sight nor bemoan the fact that with their mating her sight will not return. I applaud Ms. Martine because so much of the time authors want to make their characters perfect or to have them be cured and with Blind Acceptance that isn’t the case. The Wind River brother’s extended family and pack work wonderfully as supporting characters helping keep the pace with each scene as well as enhancing the heroes and the heroine. The villains are just plain evil and well before they get what they have coming to them I think the reader will feel as if they could, they would reach through the pages and annihilate them. The ending wraps up superbly while leaving the reader hanging on and intrigued for what’s next in this exciting new series.
