The Weekend Proposition
Dakota is struggling to keep her life from crumbling down around her and when a chance encounter with Spencer Cannon and the offer he presents her with to earn enough cash to help her stay afloat, how can she possibly refuse. All she has to do is spend the weekend with him at a wedding and in return he’ll give her two-hundred and fifty thousand dollars.
Spencer Cannon isn’t looking forward to attending his cousin’s wedding, especially when his ex will be there and probably be pressuring him to get back together. So when the perfect opportunity presents itself and he offers Dakota a deal to help her with the debts in return for being his date at the wedding, he thinks things couldn’t be more perfect. However, the more time he spends with Dakota; it seems things could not be more complicated.
The Weekend Proposition had an absolutely great plot and from the beginning had me keep turning the pages until I was all the way at the end in a minimal amount of time. However, Spencer eavesdropping on Dakota’s conversation while she was on the phone was probably not the right thing for him to do, but how else was he to propose his idea to her. Besides, he needed a date and she needed the money, so it had to be done. The dialogue was well-written and I enjoyed the way Spencer made his proposal as if it was a business deal and nothing more, although it was way more in the end. The sex scenes were great and were perfect where they were in the story. However, the build-up of sexual tension between the hero and heroine made me wish they were a bit sooner but as a reader we can’t always get what we want. What I liked so much about Dakota was her enthusiasm to being Spencer’s date and how well she acted the part as if she was always meant to be with Spencer. While with Spencer, I enjoyed the way he went about asking Dakota to be his date and that he was willing to offer her enough money to see that she was no longer struggling financially.
Overall, Ms. Jade has done a wonderful job penning this story and I can’t wait to read more of her work in the future. And I would recommend this story to all readers that love a good romance and a hero that is willing to do anything to get what he wants.
