When Nicky Hauser walks in on his boyfriend having sex with another man, his life changes drastically. He had a job and a home with his cheating ex and now all of that is gone. Forced to make new arrangements soon, his caring friends offer their assistance. In the process, he uses his passion for housekeeping and starts a small housekeeping service.
He meets Spencer Cartwright who is in dire need of Nicky’s services as he is clueless when it comes to keeping a clean house. Nicky’s passion for cleaning is the key to a budding friendship that is on the cusp of turning into something more. Spencer is recently divorced and newly out while Nicky remains wary of relationships. Will past issues be a road block to love?
I wasn’t sure what to expect but this was a quick, light romantic read. It’s a heartwarming story of a man finding himself and love along the way. The author doesn’t make it a angst fest or an arduous journey although Nicky does learn a few lessons. Spencer has his own lessons to learn but together they make an awesome pair. The story is told from Nicky’s point of view but I was still able to connect with Spencer. The characters are relatable and very likable, you want them to succeed and fall in love. There isn’t any blatant sexual situations, the author leaves that to your imagination. In essence it’s a sweet pleasing novella that will put a smile on your face. I was smiling at the end.
