Throwing a dart into a man’s neck isn’t the best way to get his attention. But that’s exactly what Lacy LaRoche does, although it’s a simple accident. However, it turns out the throw wasn’t such a bad thing after all, especially when the man in question is the man she’s secretly had a crush on for years.

Tyler Desmond isn’t looking for a second chance at love, but when an errant dart winds up in the side of his neck, he’s looking for a little retaliation. Instead, he finds himself intrigued by the blonde with the wayward throw and ends up kissing her.

The plot of this book was great and I especially loved the start with Lacy throwing the dart with such bad aim. It made for an interesting storyline because Tyler was the man she’d secretly had a crush on for years and she didn’t realise it was him until the next morning when he came to visit her grandfather. The dialogue was well-written and I liked both characters back stories, especially considering Lacy had another secret that involved quite a scandal. The sex scenes were very heated because of the crush Lacy had for Tyler. What I liked so much about Lacy was that she didn’t allow the scandal to crush her spirit for life. While with Tyler, I liked that he listened to Lacy without judging her like so many others had in her life.

Overall, this author has certainly made me a fan by penning this exceptional novel and I can’t wait to read more of their work in the future.
